Our story

Vintage Amp Funk is a Canadian lighting product company base in Montreal city opened in 2014 we are a web store only for the moment but hope to eventually have a street store in a near future.

We specialize in custom lighting products and industrial lights.
If you have an idea, draw it, explain it and give us your budget. We will do anything to realize it ! It is personally frustrating to have lighting products you like that seem out of your reach because it costs an arm and a leg or other companies charge you crazy prices to build it !! We are not saying we give our products for a dollar but we are reasonable.

So if you like a lamp, chandelier or other lighting products from a competitor and the price is too high for you we will do our best to make it for you in your budget!

More about me. My name is Nick Lafond. I am the owner of Vintage Amp Funk and Ambient Wood Furnishing. I was born in the North where it is as cold as hell and being born in a small town near the forest made me learn to be handy with my hands very fast! First a musician i turned to being a salesman for family reasons and many years later i tried to turn all my ideas into one passion which was to create lighting products. I love the end of the 1800 to 1900 era, the brass, copper, wood materials everything was made handmade and was beautiful. Today after 1 year of being operational on Etsy I get excited each time people ask me to start a new product for them or even enquire about an existing one even when I am really tired. The interest that people are showing me prove me that handmade lighting products are still alive and well and that giant manufactures will never win on that!!
