Walking tour through the communities on Toronto Island with longtime residents Linda Rosenbaum and Susan Roy.

The Toronto Island community is a charming and unique residential neighbourhood. This year-round cottage-like community of 650 people is car free, and store-free, yet only a 10 minute ferry boat ride from the downtown core of Canada's largest city, Toronto.

Join us to see homes and gardens and the beautiful public square recently created by community members. Learn about the Island's rich 150-year history – from its days as a healing ground for Indigenous peoples, to a resort community for Toronto's wealthiest families, to today's thriving community of writers, artists and mixed-income families living in the lush green Toronto Island Park.

Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:30. May through September. We meet at the Ward's Island ferry docks.

One and a half hour tour: $30 per person.
