West Coast Dragon Boat Society

It was a dream of Donna James back in 1997 to have a dragon boat in Port Alberni, BC. Through hard work and determination Donna and a team of like minded friends made the dream came true. Today, West Coast Dragon Boat Society owns three boats, and has four teams paddling on Sproat Lake. The teams and Society partner to run two regattas each year on the Lake; a Ladies only sprint in June, and a mixed sprint in September. Paddlers from the teams participate in racing, and our 55+ young paddlers race in the BC Seniors Games.
