Why Soy?

- Soy wax is a non-toxic alternative to paraffin wax, made from soybeans, it is renewable and cost effective. The soybean is one of the most versatile products used today. It has been a high protein source for millions of people for thousands of years.

- Soy candles last three times longer than petroleum-based candles, have an incredible scent throw without being overwhelming

- Whispering Winds uses ONLY essential oils NOT fragrance oils or perfume to scent our candles, which will not cause headaches associated with perfume allergies or intolerances

- Soy wax is all-natural and will not produce the thick black soot that you see on paraffin containers. Soot can be a "white soot" that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Soy wax will produce very little black soot---you will not see that thick black ring on the jars, nor will it do the black soot damage to homes, but it may produce some non-toxic white soot.

- Our soy candles burn clean and completely, which means there is minimal waste of wax and wicks and you won’t have the issue of there being a bunch of wax left over with no wick left to burn it. For best results avoid putting any soy candles in drafty areas which can affect the quality of the burn.

- The melting point of the soy wax we use lies at 43.8 degrees Celcius, versus parrafin wax melting point which is upwards of 60 degrees Celcius.

- Melted soy wax is not hot enough to burn skin, it is actually possible to use warm soy wax as massage oil. Therefore if a small child were to knock over one of our soy candles, it will still make a mess, but the wax will not cause scalds or burns. You do still need to exercise caution with small children around the flame.

- Soy wax does not stain clothes or furniture. accidental spillage can easily be cleaned up with warm soapy water and will wash out of clothes in any regular warm water cycle.

- We Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible, both in the making of the product and once the product has been sold. We offer discounted prices for customers who bring back the jars and cups our candles come in so they can be reused or recycled.
