Whitney, Texas

Whitney is a city in Hill County in Central Texas, US. The population was 2,087 at the 2010 census.Whitney is a rural lakeside community and the site of the very first bass fishing tournament. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.27% of the population.There were 684 households of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.6% were married couples living together, 15.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 32.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.11.
