FAQ's

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent make-up, where through manual process of inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin (epidermis). We can create the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. The effects last up to 2 years after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were.

Who is Microblading for?

If you are ready to look your best from the moment you wake up in the morning to the time you rest your head, then it’s for you. If you’re a busy mom or career woman and don’t have the time to fill in your eyebrows every morning, it’s the perfect solution for you. If you dislike wearing makeup and would rather keep it natural but still have perfect eyebrows then it’s definitely for you. It is also perfect for people who are very active, who do a lot of sports or go to the gym on a daily basis because you don’t have to worry about your makeup getting smeared.

What should I do before my eyebrow procedure?

-If you have an ideal shape, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment.
-You may fill in your eyebrow as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire.
-If you plan to go on vacation, it’s recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure.
-Clients are required to avoid any blood thinning medication for minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, Fish oil supplements and ibuprofen.
-Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume.
-If you have been on Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
-It is highly recommended you avoid sun tanning and or tanning bed exposure for 10 days before and after your procedure

How long does the procedure take?

Allow 2-2.5 hours for the initial procedure. The consultation is actually part of your appointment, at this time you will fill out the client consent form and go over any questions you may have about the procedure as well as after care instructions. We will then work together to find the perfect color and shape that you are happy with for your new brows. Once the outline is drawn on, we will begin the Microblading which takes approx. 45 mins – 1 hour. For best results I recommend a “touch up” appointment (included in cost) at 4-6 weeks post procedure, certain areas may not take color during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure they look perfect and retains the desired color. Touche-Up sessions are much shorter taking approx. 1 hour.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthetic is used as needed to help numb the area to be treated. This helps to alleviate any minor discomfort you may experience during the procedure. Every person has a different pain threshold and level of tolerance. We will customize the anesthetic process based on
your needs. For women, you will be more sensitive if you are hormonal so please book your appointment accordingly.

How long does healing take?

Allow 5-7 days if you have an event or special occasion coming up! Color intensity will be much darker the first few days after the procedure. Then in about 3-5 days it is followed by some mild flaking. After this time, the color will subside and start to take a "softer" appearance as the skin heals.

What can’t I do after the procedure?

You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry - that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking or peeling the tattoo. You can still wash your hair and face and once they’re healed up, you treat them as your own.

Can I have my brows Microbladed if I am pregnant?

No. No exceptions. You cannot have this treatment done if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. It is your responsibility to inform the technician PRIOR to starting the procedure if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
