Marjorie and Alex Hodgins-Smith, the original owners of the Yellow Barn, started out with a road side corn stand in 1973. In 1987 they turned it into a produce store and the Yellow Barn was born. Over the years the business expanded to include a restaurant, deli and grocery section, featuring homemade preserves and baking, as well as fresh, local BC produce year-round.
In the spring of 2017, a social enterprise owned by the Mennonite Central Committee BC took over management of the Yellow Barn, building on the legacy of this 3rd generation family business.
