COMMUNION OF THE DIVERSE

Communion here refers to the act of carrying on a relaxing, informative conversation.

Diverse refers to background and other general characteristics that often separate people from communing with each other.

Have you ever told a wealthy person what you remember about your grade school years? If so, chances are that you are wealthy yourself.

Have you ever “broke bread” with a Christian? You are likely a Christian.

Are you meeting a group of Blacks for a dinner? I will bet you are Black.

AN INVITATION

Want to commune with someone different from yourself for a change? Come to a Salt and Pepper Communion.

Salt and Pepper Communions stack the tables so that there are some polar opposites at each table. You know going in what diversity will be at your table. Chances are that you will be at one pole or another of that diversity yourself.

Each communion will also focus on a stated topic for the affair.

Pick a communion whose selected diversity and topic interests you. You will be assigned a table and a seat at the table. Join the conversation when it is your turn to talk and you are moved to do so.

Don't be afraid. It is no different than taking a trip to a national park or visiting a museum. No one will be selling you a philosophy. Everyone will just be themselves and they will speak only when they are not being spoken to.

Why pay to listen to a guest speaker when you can pay to hear yourself talk?
